Let's Get Crafty!!

It's Doughnut Keychain Time!

Have you ever think that we can actually make a keychain by ourselves and customize it? If you answer yes. Do you guys ever make one before? If you have, can you guys share it with us and send us the picture of your DIY keychain.

If you answer no and really unsure that you can actually make your own keychain. Let's read this article further to know on how to make it.

You can really do this guys!!

Things you should have. Prepare it before hand guys!
- 3 different colours of soft felt fabric (this is used to cut out the dough and glaze-you can   choose any kind of flavor you want)
- threads (better if you use thick thread like you do cross-stitch)
- cross-stitch needle & needle for beads
- beads
- a bundle of wool
- keychain hooker
- a short thread or a ribbon to hold the keychain hooker

Let's get our crafty hands going!

First of all, make a template. You can draw the template yourself too.

Then, you cut it out. Make sure that you cut the middle little circle too.

Afterwards, lay this template on the felt fabric. Secure it with pin needle. Make sure that you cut the circle one twice, so, you end up with 2 circles. This is for the dough. The other irregular shape template is representing the glaze. The glaze just cut one time only.

You end up with this 3 layers of felt cut-out. Then, you take one of the circle and layer it together with the glaze layer. After you are satisfied with the placement. Stitch it together using backstitch technique or in Malay, we call it 'insang pari' technique. Stitch only the outer curve of the glaze only.

Then, layer the third layer together. Place the third layer at the bottom, ensure that the glaze is on the top. After it is neatly layered, stitch the middle little circle using the same stitching technique. Make sure that you stitch the whole 3 layers together.

After you have done stitching the middle little circle. Stitch the outer curve of the circle together using the same stitching technique. Stitch the layers little by little. Don't forget too stitch the thick thread for the keychain hooker. Do not stitch all of the curve at one time as you need to do it while stuffing the doughnut with wool. It's this kind of wool (look picture below)

Then after you have done with the stitching all around the doughnut. Let's decorate the glaze with beads. It will turn out like this:

So that is your doughnut keychain. You can start from this and create more of other kind of keychains. Spend your free time and make one of this cute thing. You can even give it as a gift to your bestie or loved one!

That's all from me (Atiqah). Enjoy getting crafty guys!
